A Kiwi with Claude vs the SpaceXAI team. Ten businesses for financial freedom, then I auction them off. Let's go.

SpaceXAI has eleven presenters, a sales team, Grok Bot and three days in San Francisco. I've got Claude, one day and a fan on Koh Phangan. Thursday Sept 17 I'm building 10 small, real-world businesses for financial freedom in a world of AI and robots, finding them customers live with no budget, then auctioning each one from $1. Friendly challenge. 8:30am PT.

How to join

The challenge

This week SpaceXAI is running Grok Bot Galaxy: three days in San Francisco, eleven presenters and a sales team, showing what its AI bots can do inside companies. Fair play, it looks great.

On Thursday September 17, a New Zealander on Koh Phangan, Thailand, is sitting down with Claude, just the two of us, to build ten small, real-world businesses with one job: give an ordinary person financial freedom that still holds up when AI and robots are everywhere. I was going to do a hundred, but I'm a humble man (look up the meaning of the name Paul) and I can't review a hundred things Claude produces in a day and stand behind them. Ten I can.

So it's also Claude versus Grok. Their bots are built to do jobs. Mine is building businesses that mean you don't need one. Same week, opposite direction.

The board

Ten businesses, ten tiles. Each one lights up as it is built, priced and sent out to find its first customers. Business ten goes on the board at 4:30pm Pacific, the same time as their final showcase.

How the auction works

Built live

Each business is designed on stream: the idea, the hardware, the software, the numbers and an honest first thirty days.

Real customers

The goal is to make money and prove the concept, so I go and find real customers during the stream, with no budget, and explain the method as I go.

Bidding opens at one dollar

Every business goes up for auction from $1. Bids close Saturday 6pm Pacific.

Ninety percent is yours

Win the bid and you get the blueprint, the name, the software, the customers I found, and a handover call.

Ten percent belongs to a good cause, named on the day at noon.

Who am I

Nobody you've heard of. Thirteen years running unstaffed laundry lockers, a hundred operators, seven countries. Not an AI company. This is all just for fun and friendly competition, so before any harsh judgements about me or what I'm doing, look up the meaning of my first name.
