100 in a day: a Kiwi in Thailand vs the SpaceXAI team

SpaceXAI has three days, a team and a stage. I’ve got one day, a laptop and a fan. On Sept 17 I’m designing 100 small, real-world businesses the bots can’t run, live with Claude. Friendly challenge. Some will be great, some will get laughed at.

The challenge

This week SpaceXAI is running Grok Bot Galaxy, three days in San Francisco showing what its AI bots can do for companies. Fair play, it looks great.

On Thursday September 17, I’m sitting on Koh Phangan, Thailand with Claude and designing a hundred small, real-world businesses that the bots and robots can’t take, because someone still has to own them. Steel boxes, water refill cabinets, lockers, storage yards, dog wash bays. Boring hardware, decent software, and a human who knows where to put it.

How the day runs

Ten waves

Ten blueprints an hour, straight through the day.

Real numbers

Hardware costs, software, who buys it, per-unit numbers.

First thirty days

A starting plan and an honest verdict on each one.

Nothing hidden

Some will hold up. Some won’t. All of them stay on the board.

Who am I

Thirteen years running unstaffed laundry lockers, a hundred operators, seven countries. Not an AI company. The guy who knows what happens when you bolt a machine to a wall and walk away.

Ten percent of what these businesses earn us goes to anti-trafficking organisations. That part isn’t a joke.
